The Regional Council of Pohjois-Savo and Accountor Group Finland’s largest
financial and payroll administration service provider, signed a
contract on December 13, 2006 concerning the outsourcing of the
Regional Council’s financial and payroll administration to Accountor Group.
Accountor Group will provide the Regional Council with customized turnkey
digitized processes and cutting-edge procedures.
The contract will enter into force at the beginning of 2007, at
which point the Regional Council’s financial and payroll administration
expert will become a Accountor Group employee.
The Regional Council of Pohjois-Savo is undertaking a complex
reorganization in order to improve cost-efficiency. Securing expert
development of financial administration processes and systems forms
part of this reorganization. Accountor Group’s extensive experience in
outsourcing the financial administration processes of public-sector
bodies and private businesses of various sizes alike convinced the
Regional Council that Accountor Group was its most logical choice.
“We will also gain the use of an up-to-date substitute system,” says Jarmo Muiniekka, Administrative Manager of the Regional Council.
Financial administration outsourcing has increased considerably
in Finland, as organizations seek to enhance their operations and
profitability, focusing on their core competence. The service models
created by Accountor Group for the outsourcing process help in its efficient
implementation.

Regional Council of Pohjois-Savo
The Regional Council of Pohjois-Savo is a statutory joint municipal
authority operating according to the principles of local
self-government. It is a regional development and regional planning
authority and thus the unit in charge of regional planning and looking
after regional interests. On the basis of municipal democracy, it
articulates common regional needs and works to promote the material and
cultural well-being of the region. The region comprises 23
municipalities, of which 7 are cities.
